2016 - OILMAN'S... another party

No tournament in Elk City gives more for less. Every year, when you see the tables full of door prizes, even in this year's slow times for Elk City, you can't say anything but "Wow!"... "Double Wow!!" The donated prizes total is always unknown, but some people say it is well north of $20K... this year alone, they had 8 sets of clubs, and six 60" TV's among the prizes, that is well over $10K alone. Almost no one leaves without a prize. In addition, you have Barber-Dyson Ford and Great Plains Bank provide very useful gifts for every player who shows up, and, don't forget, each par-3 hole has a Ford vehicle as a prize in case a hole in one is made.... insurance isn't cheap.

Andy Blankenship, David Dyson and James Atkinson, along with an informal committee who helps with the prizes (Joe Wynn, James Ainsworth among others), have their hands full with this event. Seriously, if you don't walk out with a door prize, you are really unlucky!

This year the scores were unusually low for this tournament... starting at 8:00 a.m instead of 9:30 made it for a great morning, not too hot, great for golf. The 36 team, 144 players, were divided into four flights as follows:

"A"
53 - Thru Tubing
54 - Sooner Energy
56 - Dodson Construction

"B" (*)
61 - ENTZ
61 - G.A.S.
62 - S.F.I.

"C"
64 - Turnbull's P.O.L.P.'s
65 - Mayes
65 - Cornerstone

"D"
67- Powell's
67 - Coghling
67 - Troy Jones

All playoffs were decided by scorecard starting at different holes picked by the audience.
