ELK CITY SHOOTOUT RESULTS

Quality, and not quantity, defined this year's field for the Elk City Shootout.

In the Championship Flight's leading group, we had a couple of former champions (Alfred "Thumper"Galyean and Joby Gray) and a couple of really good players, one of which became a new champion, Luke Phillips, from Sayre, who shot rounds of 65-70/135 to win by four over Galyean and Mark Fairchild, with identical rounds of 70-69 for a 139. Joby Gray added a 73 to his opening 70. In his final round, he was making ground by finishing with the best front nine score of 33, but faded on the back nine with costly mistakes, one of which was a the short but dangerous #15.

In the "A" flight, Ann Cowan showed that her opening 74 was no fluke and closed with a 73 to win the flight over Rodney Cabaniss (73-77) and Matt Salazar (74-76) by three. One shot back, were a father-son duo, Steve Stark (77-74) and Ryan Stark (74-77).

The "B" flight was won by Kaleb Keith with rounds of 79-77. Second was Jorey Price with 82-75, and third Kenny Wederski 80-78. Two players tied for fourth at 161, Bo Tisdale and Chris Stark.

The "C" Flight was won by Richard Hammonds with rounds of 86-85 for a 171. Second was james Ainsworth who shot 87-85 and 3rd, Roger Redd with 90-83. With fourth place at 183, ten shots behind 3rd place, no one in that flight was close to these three players.

Excluding the Championship Flight, on Sunday there was an additional competition for lowest scores in each flight. Ann Cowan won "A" with a 73, Jorey Price won "B" with a 75 and Roger Redd won "C" with an 83.

SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!
