GREAT WEEK!!

The 44th Oil& Gas tournament kicked off on the 70th anniversary of D-Day, one of the most, if not the most, important days in the history of freedom of the United States. With the busyness of the tournament, hardly anyone remember to mention it, but I am sure all veterans or veterans' families did remember, so, before I post the results: THANK YOU!

Aside from the party mood around the golf course on Friday and Saturday during the 44th Annual Oil&Gas Tournament, the week was full of other stories that were worth mentioning: for instance, Logan Gore, 17, won the State of Oklahoma's Junior Match Play Championship, the first Elk City golfer to do so... ever.

Anya Alvarez, who among other companies, is sponsored by Superior Fabrication Inc. of Elk City (S.F.I.), made her second official cut in an LPGA event by scoring 71-66-70-69/276 (8 under par) in the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic (Waterloo, Ontarion, Canada)... but that was not the best part of her story, it seems that the first two rounds qualified her for the Women's British Open (we'll know by the 11th!!). Currently she is 4th national alternate (and 1st from Florida) to get in the U.S. Open next week at Pinehurst #2. Let's see what happens!

The week started with Brad Spitzer making a hole in one against pals Robert and Eddie Lakey... had he
played with his regular full group, he could have taken a long vacation with wife Dayva who shot her best score in a year a day after in a pretty windy day (76). Brad also scored an eagle and two more birdies on the back nine. Again, full group and.... who knows!!

The first day of the Oil & Gas was remembered for another hole in one (first hole in one during a tournament since we arrived in Elk City 3 years ago). Rod Little aced #7 on Friday to win a "Tuff-Shed" which he eventually refused.

After two days of competition, the results were as follows:

"A" Flight:
1st - Rockwater II (108),

2nd - Anadarko Dozer (109),

3rd - Interbank I (111)

"

"D" Flight
