RUSTY WILSON & DAUGHTER KELSI ON TOP OF FATHERS' DAY TOURNAMENT

"We are going to win them all"
(so far Rusty and Kelsi are
two-for-two in the last 10 months
A record number of 85 teams played in the 2015 Father-Son Tournament, and with a 59, Rusty and Kelsi Wilson beat the other 84 teams!

It was a crazy last two days before the tournament that took place Saturday. New teams kept calling in since Thursday, when we had 52 teams. Then, it all unraveled and Friday was a day in which the pairings changed as often as I changed channels on TV to watch the U.S. Open different options.

"Swinging with 2"
So, I decided to go out, and not come back until late afternoon where I could make "new and final" pairings. I was not surprised that 7 teams had been added to the previous 78! We ended up with 22 groups of 6-8 golfers who played in a little less than 6 hours... another record for than number of players in one sole shotgun start. By the way, the tournament, scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m., went out at 9:03! Someone said, "how did you pull this off?", I didn't. The players did a heck of a job in coming in on time to check in and then played at a really good pace most of the day (#15 always slows down teams who do not have a single digit handicapper).

Also swinging with 2!
The day could not have been better for golf, just a little breeze in an otherwise hot day. It kept the temperature bearable and the mosquitoes away! In my team's case, it also kept the birdies away (apparently, the change in strategy -me playing with my son in law and my daughter playing with her father in law, was only good for the latter, as my son in law Jeff Bennett and I cannot play well in a perfect day and Mark Bennett and my daughter placed first in their flight!)

Thank you to Ashley Marr, her niece, Ann Cowan and the Hudgens family (Larry, Lana, Mark, Mitchell and Hannah) for helping at the end during the score posting process! It made it a lot easier and speedy! And thank you Mona for doing all of the team pictures!
