ALL IN THE DEFINITION OF "CLUB"

CLUB: "An association or organization dedicated to a particular interest or activity for a joint purpose".

A few days ago, the Club began the arduous process of draining, then digging the big pond on the back nine in order to rid of it of the settlement accumulated in the last 20 years or so -the last time this process was done-, in order to give it its original capacity for storing irrigation water.

This necessary project, which was mentioned in the last 2-3 Stockholders Meetings, finally was planned thanks to the help of several of our members who donated equipment time, personnel and cash. The project, which at one point had been quoted to cost north of $120,000 will now be done with very little out of pocket expense from the club.

A big, big... let's say, GIGANTIC THANKS go to Darrell Dunn, Greg Dodson, Greg Mullins, Marte Mullins, Tate Finnell, Andy Blankenship,  among others, who have made this possible by donating heavy equipment time along with personnel and personal involvement in the logistics. Thank you to the Board for coordinating this!  (Note: Ann Cowan was put in charge of the initial coordination).

A note to all golfers, members or not: this work is necessary and we apologize for the inconvenience. At times, when all personnel and equipment is working, golfers will have to skip 16 & 17 and go directly to #18 after leaving #15 green (and play #1 and #9 again to complete 18 holes). We will do our best to get this project done as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, other necessary work was going around the clubhouse, perhaps less noticeable, but as important to us as a club, with Terry Anderson (better known as "T.A.") and Jeff Rule  doing the doing the siding and painting of the surroundings of the clubhouse under an affordable contract.

If anyone reading this would like to help with equipment, personnel, or anything, please call Rusty Wilson (580-243-8577) or Ann Cowan (580-799-0369) and they will get you in touch with those who have already started the project to coordinate your help offer.
