TUESDAY NIGHT SCRAMBLE FINALE

Playoff. A tie in a group will be broken by handicaps, if two players tie with most points, the lowest handicap player wins and advances to the 3-Hole Finale. If same handicap, both players will advance to playoff.

Dustin thanks Terry for his putt in
the Saturday tournament.
The Tuesday Night Men's Scramble (Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m., nine holes) runs from early April to late September and ends with an 18 hole tournament on a Saturday. A very fun finale, I may add.

Last Tuesday Scramble:
Rick Rex congratulates Kim Jordan
on a long putt that won them the last
nine hole tournament (9/30/14)
This year's finale took place on Saturday, October 4th and drew 46 golfers who not only had a perfect golf day, but they ended with a great cookout (this time they gathered just south of #15 green) and, an additional night individual Par-3 contest under lights supplied by United Rentals (Larry Johnson) that was great fun for the competitors, thus, there were people who did not leave the course until close to 11:00 p.m.!!

The well planned cookout included steaks (correction: "half cows", as these were as big as the famous 72 oz steak in Amarillo, TX, only with better flavor!), sausage (two or three different kinds), stuffed peppers,
grilled bolognia, and other tasty cooking expertly done by several of our members and friends. Not sure anymore if this is a cookout with a tournament on the side, or a tournament with a cookout to end the day, either way, the combination is great.

With an 11 under par, 60, the team of Rusty Wilson, Greg Dodson, Kim Jordan, Lee Banh and Charlie Kauk won by one over other three teams who ended at 61: Tyler Windsor, Keith Hulen, Larry Johnson, Neil Hohnke & Bart Reece; Kaleb Keith, Jeremy Taylor, Chase McAbee & Joe Wynn; and, Dustin Gunkel, Danny Teel, James Ainsworth & Terry Stone, with this last team winning the sudden death playoff on #15.

And speaking about the playoff hole and the Night 3 Hole Par-3 Contest... the holes were very challenging, one playing from #18 middle tee back to #17 green; one from #17 tee, to a tight hole position on #16 green, and the last one, and the one used for the sudden death playoff, from the large area south-east of #13 green (straight east from #14 tee), over the water to #15
green, where the hole location was back left for normal play, and just over the water for the playoff hole.

In the playoff, Dustin Gunkel needed the help of his teammates as his ball hit by the hole, but sucked back to the water (same as Kaleb's ball) and got it from James Ainsworth (tee shot) and Terry Stone, first to putt, who holed out for birdie. Previously, Chase had almost made his team's putt from about 50 feet.

Three teams ended up in a tie at 63: Aaron Kauk, Jeff Rule, Rocky Andresen & Dave Berkebill; Rod Little, Grady Lantz, Brad Harrison & Roger Redd; and, Adam Lewelle, Jesse Sharp, Wayner Allen and Jeff Koon.

One more finale is coming up this coming Sunday. Our "Sunday Shuffle" (individual play under
USGA Rules). Tee times will begin at 12:30 p.m. You can make your group or call so that we can help you make a foursome.
Play will be match play within your group (handicapped), and, winners of each group, will end the day with a 3-Hole Championship.

See you then!
